Who we are

It’s hard to imagine a more suitable venue for showcasing Art, than a scene of natural and cultural treasure - Château Bela. With its rich decoration and a sweeping park landscape, the baroque-style castle became a place, where vineyards, Art and architecture live in harmony.

Guests frequent Château Bela from around the world. We aim to create an unforgettable experience for our guests through indulgence in the finer things.

What we do

Château Béla is a place where creativity is embraced, and experiments are celebrated. Our purpose is to bring forth and share local, regional, and international visual and performing artists’ work with a diverse and eclectic public. We work internationally, respecting tradition, to enhance the local and to work with artists, art galleries and other art workers from around the globe to present Art within alternative historic settings outside of the “white cube.”

BÉLArt

BÉLArt is an artistic intervention into the heritage of Château Bela, which aims at stimulating an active dialogue with its guests, friends and residents. Its projects propose to operate locally in the Slovakian countryside, as well as bridge cross-territorial networks to urban centers like Vienna, Budapest, and beyond.

Current project: “While We Were Gone”

In early 2021, the first intervention took place while Hotel Château Béla was forced to close its doors due to a lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic. When being empty, four internationally renowned artists took over the Château and activated the place remotely with in situ installations. The exhibition then continued to be broadcast live via existing CCTV cameras until the hotel could reopen and return to regular business.
